USL-Y/SUPER Y FACT SHEET
ROSTERS/TEAM SELECTION
- Any competitive player can play in our USL – Youth/Super Y Program, so long as it does not conflict with your regular club season.
- For 11 vs 11 teams, rosters are not expected to exceed 18 players. For 9 vs 9 teams, rosters are not expected to exceed 14 players.
- Players are expected to tryout at their own birth year group, unless there is not a team for your birth year (i.e., a 2015 player can try out for the 2014 team). The decision for players to play at an age group will be solely at the discretion of Chicago Inferno coaching staff.
- Chicago Inferno expects to make decisions regarding player selection and whether to field teams at each age group by Sunday, March 3rd, although some players may be contacted sooner.
USL – YOUTH SUMMER SEASON
The USL Summer is expected to kick off immediately after the conclusion of the regular Spring league season (likely to be the week of June 10th). The season is expected to finish at the end of July.
TRAINING DETAILS
Trainings will be on weekday evenings and will take place in the Crystal Lake area. You can expect to practice 2 times per week, although this may fluctuate to 1 or 3 times per week depending on holidays and the team’s game schedule.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS
A team can expect to travel out of state 1 or 2 times depending on the teams in their division. More out of state teams in the division = more travel. For an out of state weekend, you will typically play 2 to 3 games (similar to a tournament).
GAME SCHEDULE RELEASE
Game schedules are expected to be released mid to late April from the League. While there will likely be some local Chicago-area games against local teams, most of our teams will likely play one or two of the following weekends.

SUMMER VACATIONS
Considering the time of the year that the competition takes place, we offer a certain amount of flexibility to families who plan their vacation during the summer season. We respectfully ask for families to give us advance notice if their player is going to be missing any practices and/or games.
PLAYING TIME
Chicago Inferno is an elite travel soccer club where no player is guaranteed a certain amount of playing time. Playing time is determined by attendance, performance, and the demands of each game.
COSTS
- The USL – Youth/Super Y 2024 Program is expected to be $525. The fee includes games (expected to be between 8 to 10 games) and 12 to 14 training sessions over the course of 6 to 7 weeks. A non-refundable deposit of $155 will be required upon the acceptance of the roster spot, with the remainder to be paid in two installments of $185 each.
- Non-Inferno players will purchase a USL – Youth/Super Y kit for approximately $75. The kit will include 2 jerseys and 1 pair of shorts.
- If there is out-of-state travel for games, families are responsible for all of their additional costs (i.e. transportation, hotels, meals, etc) during out of state travel. If possible, teams will stay together at the same hotel and will be coordinated by the team manager. However, players are not required to stay at the team hotel for USL summer league games.
USL – YOUTH/SUPER Y NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
National Championships are held in early December in Florida each year. Teams can qualify for the National Championships by winning their division in the summer or by earning a wild card bid.
